Irons

All homes need an steam iron and the choice is now wider than ever before.

Traditional steam irons have a tank which holds water to generate steam. The strength of the steam can often be controlled and can include a short quick burst for problem creases.  Most irons will have a cleaning option to prevent the build-up of scale, and some include an anti-scale option too. You can use boiled water to help keep the tank cleaner. A steam iron hold a limited amount of water, so they do need regular topping up while you are ironing.

Steam generator irons still produce steam, but using a different system. The best iron sits on a tank and this sends steam in to the iron. The tanks are much larger than one which would be on the iron, so they don’t need as much topping up. These irons are a good choice for large families or for people who have a lot of ironing to do.
